Hydrangea Blues

"Hydrangea Blues, Too"             oil             36" x 18"             SOLD

Thank to my extremely patient patrons, who saw this in progress (I won't say how long ago) and waited patiently until it was ready. If it's blue, it must be a boy!

  4. I had never seen a hydrangea until I moved to New England. I couldn't believe the unbelievable shade of blue the flowers were, which you have captured perfectly in your painting. The format works great as well.

  5. Blue hydrangeas are one of my very favorite flowers. I remember a pool I would visit often as a child had huge bushes lining the fence line. What a gorgeous site. Thank you for evoking such warm and fun memories with this beautiful painting!hugs!

  12. Love these blossoms as much as I do the ones I own. I grew up with these in our front yard in Brooklyn NY. they were the only relief from the cement of the city life. Great job, R!

  14. Wow R! Here hydrangeas are also called Christmas flowers because they are in full bloom right now. The intense blue of these is incredible and I love the way you've caught the light on them so perfectly. Gosh, but you're good!

Do you have copyright on that sign in front of your computer? I need one like that!

  15. Hi Liz,
Nope, no copyright-- so anyone who wants to print out a "PAINT FIRST" sign for yourself, go right ahead and let me know if it helps! It seems to be helping me!

  18. Beautiful painting—calm and inviting blues! (Read all of the above!) I haven't been visiting too many sites lately or posting, since I've seen how easy it is for me to get trapped in the computer time zone. And I REALLY need to paint to improve! 2011 = good work habits! Gotta go paint! Thanks R!
