as a direct painter, I am sometimes just not wild about photo real. But YOUR work is different. It has heart and soul along with the sublime accuracy. Love the warm light
Hey R. I just love all your work. I'm not sure how to convey what I feel when I see it so I'll say the words, *impressed and happy*. I know that may sound a little strange..... LOL.... but the truth is that you are very talented and your work blows me away!!
Love the counterpoint of the cool green matte opaqueness of the pear, and the shine warmth and transparency of the dish with the orange. Light and shadow is everywhere, great composition
Hey, R, I love the abstract quality of this piece - and the drama! glazes .... I wish I could see a demo of them, because I sure love the effects! Very cool piece...
It is a wonderful piece of art! I loved the smallest details being attended to with utmost passion.. the orange reflection in the saucer the the light fold of the table cloth.. everything so perfect :-)
Hi R... You ever drop by a blog, enjoy the work, and then go away thinking you had left a comment? Well, that happened to me on this one. Anyway, I love the luscious nature of your fruit in this beauty - especially the orange slice which caused my saliva glands to get busy. The circles in the table cloth are wicked - what a great job with all of those ellipses! But, my favorite part of the whole thing is your treatment of the double shadows. Sweet!
This is a beauty! Saw some of your originals in the Maine Cottage Furniture Store. It was a real treat to see a bloggers work in "real life"! They are, of course, even better than one could expect. You are a talented painter!! Your colors and technical expertise is amazing, look forward to seeing more!
Your compositions are always so strong! Love the way the fruit is spotlighted and the soft shadow with the crease leading the way to the pear. Can't get enough of those fun dots!
Hi R!! I love this... (as always) Did you achieve the wonderful subtleties in the shadow area with those glazes or is that just part of how you painted it in the first place???
That looks really juicy..
ReplyDeleteLove the lighting..

It's all there, the light, shadows, color, and the things that
ReplyDeletemore love in his painting composition.
Sublime.
Great light and warmth ... as always :-)
ReplyDeleteWOW! Nice value & color control, R. It's easy to let a patterned tablecloth take over, everything in this painting knows it's place. Well done.
